Teacher of Design and Technology - TLR Available Are you a recently qualified or experienced teacher with modern D&T skills and specialist knowledge in Product Design and Engineering disciplines? Do you have strong skills in 3D CAD Software (Inventor/Solid Works), experience of 3D printing, Laser Cutting and CNC machining? Do you have an Engineering background and strong workshop, machine and practical experience? Collingwood College is looking to appoint an outstanding teacher of Design and Technology to join our well-resourced and friendly D&T team. This role will involve teaching a mix of KS3, KS4 & KS5 Classes across a range of D&T Topics. The successful Candidate for this role would be expected to teach across a range of D&T specialisms primarily within KS3 with projects covering elements of Resistant Materials, Product Design, Engineering, Graphics and Electronics. The department is passionate about D&T and raising the profile of STEM. We operate a successful Robot Wars club (with a TV appearance in 2017) and Green power Electric Race car team, currently ranked 7th out of 250 Teams Nationally. We are also in the process of starting a model aircraft club. You will be a candidate with a passion for extracurricular commitments, experience, or interest in assisting with a school Greenpower Racing team and working with young people outside the Department would also be highly desirable. Assistant Network Manager The Assistant Network Manager is a newly created role aimed at optimising network performance and delivering outstanding IT support services to users across the College. The role will work closely with other members of the IT Support Department and deputise for the IT Systems Manager, as required, to proactively manage the College’s network, maintain the availability of services and devices, and respond quickly and effectively to support requests of varying complexity. This is an exciting time to join Collingwood College as the successful applicant will play a key role in supporting the continuing delivery of major upgrades to the College’s core network infrastructure and cloud transformation over the next 2-3 years. The Assistant Network Manager will have the opportunity to provide their input in the development of the College’s long-term strategy in this area and develop their own technical and managerial skills to ensure continuous best-in-class service and performance. Learning Support Assistant Are you passionate about helping children achieve their full potential? Are you looking to develop a career in teaching or educational psychology but need experience? We have an exciting opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant, with high expectations, who can bring commitment, innovation and creativity to our already dedicated and motivated team. The successful candidate will assist teaching staff in the classroom to assist individual pupils to develop and achieve their full potential. What we're looking for in a Candidate: • Ideally have experience of working with children as a learning support or teaching assistant or an interest in starting a career in education. • Has a good standard of general education including English, Maths and Science at grade C (or equivalent) and above. • Has a passion about supporting the teaching and learning of young people • Has the ability to work creatively and sensitively with children to ensure all children secure the highest possible levels of progress and achievement. • Is able to relate well to and communicate well with children and adults.
