Winning Debut in National Cup!

Year 9 footballers gain comfortable victory against Beaconsfield School.

The Year 9 footballers kicked off their first ever National Cup campaign with a comfortable victory against Beaconsfield School on Wednesday 28 September.

After travelling around the M25 they arrived in high spirits and ready to bounce back from a poor result the previous week.  We started brightly and were soon camped in their half, playing some good football.  Unfortunately the grass was very long which made our passing game difficult to get into but the boys adapted well and soon opened the scoring.  Some intricate play by Oli Ewing put Jakob Carl through one on one and he duly dispatched.  Soon after Oli produced another piece of magic and rifled home a strike to make it 2-0 at half time.  In the second half it was much the same and two further goals from Jakob sealed a good victory.  The boys did unfortunately let in two late goals but still ran out comfortable 4-2 winners.  We move on to face John F Kennedy school in the next round.

Team: Joe Fitzjohn, Dan Simmonds, Cameron San Emeterio, Joe Terry, Alex Emery, Stanley Grosch, Oli Ewing ©, Josh Ford, Charlie Hawes, Kyle Odendaal, Jakob Carl, Jonathan Marsh, Sean Cullen and Matthew Barnett
