Year 8 Boys on a Winning Streak

Year 8 boys' football team continue their winning ways.

The Year 8 boys’ Football team continued their unbeaten record at Collingwood with a convincing 4-1 win against Salesian on Tuesday 7 October.

In what can only be described as horrific weather the boys produced one of their most convincing displays to run out worthy winners. The boys started brightly and nearly opened the scoring with Oli Ewing hitting the crossbar.  Salesian then, against the run of play, took the lead.  As usual this seemed to spark the boys into life and we soon equalised with a well taken goal by Josh Ford.  Soon after we went 2-1 up with a good individual goal by Jakob Carl.

Into the second half the rain finally slowed down and the boys dominated the half creating numerous chances.  We finally put the game to bed with two quick well taken goals by Charlie Hawes and Oli Ewing.  The boys have now played 15 games at Collingwood and have won all 15. This is a very impressive record that I hope will continue!

Team: Joe Fitzjohn, Joe Terry, Sean Cullen, Matthew Barnett, Cameron San Emeterio, Oli Ewing, Josh Ford, Stanley Grosch, Dan Simmonds, Kyle Odendaal, Jakob Carl, Charlie Hawes and Jonathan Marsh.

Man of the Match: Cameron San Emeterio.
