Respectable Placings for Collingwood's Cross Country Teams
Cross country teams compete in Bracknell annual competition.
On Wednesday 6 March some of the best cross country runners at the College travelled to Lily Hill Park in Bracknell to compete in the annual Bracknell School Invitation Cross Country Relay. This is a superb event which includes both boys and girls teams that each consist of 2 runners from each year group; it is a relay race and the athletes run in year order 9-8-7-7-8-9. Schools from across the Home Counties are invited and 22 senior schools attended the event.
The girls team competed first which included Sammy Bonny, Holly Blackburn, Becky Storer, Holly Davies, Megan Raby and Natasha Davison. The girls finished 7th out of 22 teams in a combined time of 47 minutes and 57 seconds. Well done to all of the girls!
Then came the turn of the boys team which included Harry Rice, Joe Battleday, Calum Wright, Henri Carl, Harry Grace and Charlie Bushell. The Collingwood boys finished a respectable 12th place in a combined time of 43 minutes and 25 seconds. All credit to all runners involved!
