Collingwood Celebrate Student Results

Sixth form students received their A level results by email early yesterday morning and it was then a day of celebration for the hard work and commitment of the last two years.

It is always a tense time for students, staff and of course parents, waiting to see whether those long awaited results are good enough to be accepted for university, college, apprenticeships or employment.

Collingwood were very pleased that just over half of all A level grades were A*, A or B and 80% were A*-C!  Vocational results were even better with 77% of all grades at Distinction* or Distinction and 88% were Merit or better.

Staff at Collingwood joined students to celebrate their successes.  The mood was very good with so many students accepted onto their first choice of university.  Collingwood had more than 82 students with university places waiting for them and a large number with good employment offers!

We were very proud of the achievements from all our students this year and we have selected a few to detail below.

Sam Peters is our highest achiever gaining A*AAA in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Maths. Sam will be studying Biomedical Sciences at Queen Mary University London. Sam’s ambition is to become a surgeon.

Sarah Murnaghan is one of our top performing girls.  She will be going to university to study Geography.  She achieved AAC in Geography, Biology, Chemistry and an A* for her Extended Project.

We would like to publish a detailed list of all student destinations later in the term, so please let us know your plans so we can share the news!

Congratulations to all our sixth form students and thank you to all the staff who helped them on their journey over the last seven years!
