Collingwood LSA to Compete in Commonwealth Games
Mrs Szogedi (Learning Support Assistant) has qualified to compete in Judo at the Commonwealth Games this summer.
We are pleased to announce that Mrs Szogedi (Learning Support Assistant) has qualified to compete in Judo at the Commonwealth Games this summer. She will be representing Ghana which is the nationality of her husband.
Mrs Szogedi started judo in Hungary where she was born. She was 11 years old when she first stepped on the tatami and that is thanks to her older sister. Her sister was a very good judoka and her success inspired Mrs Szogedi to start judo and follow her.
"It feels great to be selected to represent my country at such a high profile event as the Commonwealth Games. For me, this tournament is very important because I will be up to make history for our country. Ghana has never had a female Commonwealth Games medallist, so it is all up to me now to make it happen." Mrs Szogedi
Collingwood would like to wish Mrs Szogedi the best of luck in the Glasgow Games this July.
