Miss Parker Brings Home Gold for Team GB
Miss Amanda Parker, PE teacher, brings home the Gold Medal for Team GB after a fantastic synchronised trampolining routine with her partner Kat Driscoll at the Trampoline World Championships in Bulgaria.
We are extremely proud of PE teacher, Miss Amanda Parker, who is bringing home the Gold Medal for Team GB after a fantastic synchronised trampolining routine with her partner Kat Driscoll at the Trampoline World Championships in Bulgaria.
Words from Miss Parker direct from the Championships on Saturday 9 November:
"We competed today and went into the finals lying in 6th place after Friday's prelims. With the scores going back to zero we had everything to play for and performed our best ever routine, scoring higher than when we won in the World Games, Colombia. It was then a waiting game in a strong field. We were over the moon knowing we had a bronze medal after USA failed to complete their routine, even more over the moon when China completed their routine but it wasn't enough to beat us and then in a state of shock when Canada hit the mat on move 2 resulting in us being World Champions!!!
Words cannot describe how I am feeling right now. To be World Games Champion and now World Champion is just more than I ever hoped I could achieve in Synchronised Trampolining.
Along with our fantastic achievement today, I am a part of our women's team who are World Champions after a fantastic final last night! Our Tumbling and Double Mini Trampoline (DMT) men and women are also bringing home 3 bronze medals. Great Britain are storming these World Championships! One more day of competition to go where we are hoping for some more medals!"
