Industrial Action - Thursday 17 October

College closed for Years 7 to 10 but will be open for Years 11, 12 and 13.  Buses/coaches will operate as normal.  The Year 9 Art trip to Kew Gardens and 6th Form Revue will still go ahead.

As you may be aware from reports in the media, the NUT and NASUWT have voted for a one day strike in protest at Government proposals in relation to pensions, workload and conditions of service. Strike action is due to take place on Thursday 17 October and the possibility exists that further one day strikes may follow.

We have now assessed the situation and we have come to the decision that we cannot keep the whole College open. However, in order to support students in the final examination years, especially those who have November examinations in a few weeks, lessons will continue for Years 11, 12 and 13. Therefore College will be closed to students in Years 7 to 10 but students in Years 11, 12 and 13 should attend as normal. Procedures for coaches and catering will be as normal.  Furthermore, the Year 9 Art trip to Kew Gardens will go ahead.
