National School Sport Week 2013

Students display excellent leadership skills and teamwork during National School Sport Week.

National School Sport Week (Monday 24 June until Friday 28 June) is a national initiative set up before the London Olympics 2012 to create a legacy after the games. National School Sport Week has the ability to show all students that they have a role within sport and they can be successful in that role. Teams of players participated in one of four sports.

Each team had a captain to show leadership skills. The Sports Captains were given various responsibilities in the sports week.

The sports that the students ran and participated in were Basketball (with Goldhawk’s basketball), Rounders, Cricket (with Camberley CC and ‘Chance to Shine’) and Goalball which is a visually-impaired Paralympic sport.

The roles of students were really important as the students ran the competitions themselves from start to finish. These roles were Performer, Referee/umpire, Timekeeper, Score Keeper, Judge and Journalist or Photographer.

Well done everyone for their efforts in National School Sport Week.
