Successful Season for Collingwood Rugby
Success for all Collingwood rugby teams.
The Year 7 team showed brilliant rugby skills in their fixture against Weydon. The Year 11 team, despite lack of numbers for much of the season, got a team together and made it through to the semi finals of the Surrey Shield and lost narrowly to Esher High school 20-22. The game was brilliant to watch with handling skills and aggression displayed to create a fantastic game. Finally, the Year 9 team had an amazing season winning 6 out of 8 matches. This has been a squad effort with 25 boys playing in Year 9. Due to their success we played a very wet but excellent semi final match against Richard Challoner in New Malden and came back to beat them to make it to the final of the Surrey Bowl. Unfortunately, because of storms the night before the final, the Surrey Bowl was not played due to a waterlogged pitch at Wimbledon RFC and the trophy is therefore shared between Collingwood College and Carshalton boys.
