Academy Consultation Update
At the meeting of the full Governing Body on Tuesday 3 May, Governors met to review the many responses to their consultation and to receive an oral submission from the Local Authority representative, Mr Peter John Wilkinson, Surrey’s Acting Head of Schools and Learning.
Subsequently, in the light of the overwhelmingly positive response from staff, parents and students, the Governors resolved to pursue to the next stage the application to convert to Academy status with effect from 1 July 2011.
There is now one final step to be taken in the application and conversion process, which entails entering into a formal contract with the DfE by signing a Funding Agreement, which incorporates the Memorandum and Articles of Association of the new Academy as a limited company. To this end, a further meeting of the Governing Body will be held on 18 May to review the draft Funding Agreement and to make a final decision on whether or not to commit to the conversion.
A further update will be posted after the meeting on 18 May.
