Collingwood Students Celebrate Excellent GCSE Results!

Collingwood's students were delighted to receive their GCSE results where a record number of students achieved 5 or more higher grade passes!

  • 73% of all GCSE entries were grade A*-C
  • English results were 10% above national average
  • Maths results were 16% above national average
  • 81% achieved at least 2 good Science GCSEs and 60 students passed GCSEs in Biology, Chemistry and Physics
  • 257 or 82% achieved at least one higher grade pass in Technology or IT
  • Applied Art & Design, Photography, Biology, Catering, Chemistry, Electronics, Engineering, Food Technology, Drama and Statistics all achieved at least 80% higher grade pass rates
  • 98% of students achieved at least one A*-C grade

Co-Principals Karen Griffiths and Eden Tanner said, “As parents will know these results represent a lot of hard work and dedication from our students and teachers. At Collingwood we have had a very successful year despite the changes to the grade boundaries nationally. Students here have been supported to achieve their best and are ready to progress into our highly successful Sixth Form. It is very hard to single out particular students with so many doing well but recognition must go to Eleanor Smith who has 15 A*/A grade passes, Robert Holland with 14.5 A*/A passes and Catrina Sykes, Chris Barton and Catherine Holmes who have 14 A*/A passes. Today, we would like to congratulate all our students!”

Enrolment for Collingwood Sixth Form begins immediately where dedicated staff are available to support students with the process. Any students who have not yet applied should contact Mrs Hamilton via the main office to discuss availability on courses.
