20th Consecutive Win for our Year 8 Boys!

The Year 8 Football team struck up their 20th consecutive win on Wednesday 3 February.

The Year 8 Football team struck up their 20th consecutive win on Wednesday 3 February with a hard fought 2-1 win over much fancied Coombe Boys School.  The boys started incredibly brightly and soon had Coombe Boys on the back foot with some direct football.  The boys work rate throughout the game was once again unbelievable and a real testament to their fitness levels.  We took the lead early on with a well taken goal from Jakob Carl.  Shortly after, against the run of play, Coombe Boys equalised with a spectacular effort from long range, which no amount of goalies would have been able to save!

Into the second half and the boys really piled on the pressure with numerous chances and corners.  Finally, with 10 minutes left to go, Alex Emery, on his debut, managed to scramble home the winner from a corner.  The remaining minutes were played out well with the boys controlling the ball and pace of the game. The team now move into the last 8 of the County Cup where they will play Carshalton Boys after half term.

Team: Joe Fitzjohn, Sean Cullen, Joe Terry, Matthew Barnett, Cameron San Emeterio, Oli Ewing, Josh Ford, Stanley Grosch, Jonathan Marsh, Jakob Carl, Charlie Hawes, Kyle Odendaal, Dan Simmonds and Alex Emery.

Goal Scorers: Jakob Carl and Alex Emery

Man of the Match: Oli Ewing
