Mental health & wellbeing

Looking after your mental health is just as important as achieving academic success. We recognise that life can sometimes feel overwhelming, and we’re committed to providing a safe, supportive environment where you can talk openly and get the help you need.

A supportive environment

We aim to create a culture where it’s okay to talk about how you’re feeling. Whether you're experiencing stress, anxiety, low mood, or just need someone to listen, there are people here who want to help. Our pastoral team works closely with students to provide day-to-day emotional support, and we encourage open conversations about mental health and wellbeing.

On-site support from the Surrey Mental Health Support Team

We’re proud to host members of the Surrey Mental Health Support Team (MHST) on site. This specialist team works directly with students to provide early intervention and practical support for a range of mental health and emotional wellbeing needs. They offer one-to-one sessions, group workshops, and drop-in opportunities, all designed to help students build resilience and develop healthy coping strategies.

Having the MHST based at Collingwood means students can access expert support quickly and easily, in a familiar and comfortable setting.

How to access support

Students can speak to any member of the Sixth Form team if they’re struggling or have concerns about their wellbeing. We can help you access the right support - whether that’s a chat with a trusted adult, a referral to the MHST, or signposting to external services.
