Student charter
We are committed to developing not only academic excellence but also the character and values that help our students thrive in life beyond the classroom. The Collingwood Charter is a central part of our character education programme, designed to support students in becoming confident, resilient and responsible individuals.
Building character through experience
Character education at Collingwood encourages students to develop key personal attributes such as resilience, confidence and independence, while also learning how to maintain their physical and mental wellbeing. These qualities are not only essential for academic success, but are also highly valued by employers and vital for making a positive contribution to society. The Charter is rooted in our core values: Integrity, Aspiration, Perseverance, Achievement and Inclusiveness. From the moment students join us in Year 7, they are encouraged to demonstrate these values in all aspects of school life - whether through active participation in clubs, volunteering, leadership roles or simply showing kindness and respect to others.
The Charter provides a clear and motivating pathway for students to reflect on their personal development and celebrate their achievements. As they progress through the College, students work towards a series of awards - Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum - each recognising their growing contribution to the school community and their commitment to living out the College’s values. This culture of encouragement and celebration helps to foster a positive, inclusive environment where every student feels valued and empowered to succeed.
